The target audience of our music video is expected to be mostly composed of teenagers, mostly female, from a middle/working class background. This is because we have chosen a song with a subtle message of finding yourself in this world and it has hints of a love interest. The artist is very young herself and sings about what a lot of teenage girls might find very moving and relatable.
The TV channel we would expect to be best known for playing our music video would be MTV. This is a TV channel that is popular with young people because it plays popular songs that the target audience listen to.The channel also show TV programmes usually including young people around this age group, (e.g Geordie Shore). The music video could also be promoted through radio as some of the popular radio stations have their own TV channels. This can be addressed by having this song played on the radio to attract a wider audience. The audience could then go onto radio's channel to then find the music video for the song that they have heard.
The actress chosen to present the singer in this story narrative is a teenage girl as young females will be able to
relate to a character of similar traits, whilst males will be attracted to her. Furthermore, the target audience may view someone like this as a desirable role model. Seeing someone like them traveling around and living out their life may be inspirational to teenagers who are worried about their future and encourage them to make the best of what they've got. The small love aspect of the video is also interesting and relatable to audiences of all ages. It is a popular theme for music videos, however ours has been made more appealing by the fact there is more subtext to the story.
The music video will have two noticeable colour schemes. One in the daytime and one during the night. This has been mainly done to present the progress of time and her journey in to finding herself. However, at the same time this contrast of the lighting can underline the contrast between the city life and what the female actress feels her 'home' is e.g. with her lover or somewhere she feels she can be free from the busy lifestyle.
The camera angles will consist of a variety of shots such as panning and tracking of the main images to show movement and the passing of time. There will be a lot of close ups of the girl to really portray her mood to the audience and also of natural elements such as flowers to emphasise the beauty of them and the happiness she once felt. There will also be over the shoulder shots to let the audience see what the girl is looking at. Long and mid shots will show the audience her body language and what she is wearing and show her in the environment that she is in. The camera person will also experiment a lot with the focusing on the camera, for example; completely blurring out a shot and then refocusing.
