Task 2 - Jango Theory - My own review
Plot
Jango gets involved in an argument that doesn't end nicely, the actions that he takes after the argument lead to consequences that either positively or negatively effect others around him.
ReviewThe Malayalam short film, Jango Theory – Every action has an equal and opposite reaction tells a story that we experience all too often, some people who experience violence retaliate with violence where as others deal with it differently. This film shows quite dramatically both sides of these emotions and the effects of them.
The film is simple but effective, it manages to captivate the audience leaving them understanding the message that the director wished to portray.
Although it may be unusual to see a film in this way, the repetition of scenes ensures that we see both reactions clearly so that we can identify how responding differently can affect the consequences of the original actions.
Jango goes out on the quest to find the male who hit him, finding obstacles along the way. How he reacts to these obstacles have consequences on the opposite ends of the scale.
The audience are kept glued to the screen throughout in anticipation to find out what the outcomes of Jango’s actions would be. Jango has great facial expressions and body language to portray his emotions, which helps the viewer identify with him.
Verdict
Overall, It’s an all-round short film that will suit a variety of audiences, its a creative way to get a simple message across to us as the audience that the actions we take have huge consequences on others. The situation is one that many can relate to.
